اندومتریوزیس یکی از شایع‎ترین پاتولوژی‎های لگنی در خانم‎های سنین باروری می‎باشد. از تظاهرات بسیار نادر آن به شکل کارسینوماتوز منتشر شکمی (سودوکارسینوماتوز) است. بر اساس اطلاعات نویسنده، تا به حال فقط دو مورد گزارش شده است. به علاوه، فقط در این مورد، برای اولین بار بدون حذف رحم و ضمایم اندومتریوزیس بیمار با درمان هورمونی بهبود یافت.
